Dependecy issues with the Steam pkg
There's two issues with the current dependencies of Steam.
kdialog really doesn't need to be in there.
It is used to show a single dialog the very first time steam is launched. Then it is never called again.
pacman already has facilities to show messages when applications are first installed and this is what should be used here as well.
qarma is not a hard dependency of Steam
Steam will happily work without zenity/qarma installed. It is therefore an optdepend.
@gnastyle: I removed the
LD_PRELOAD stuff because I've been running steam since the beta by launching
/usr/bin/steam "directly" -- i.e. not
LD_PRELOADing any libstdc++ libraries -- and never ran into any issues.
